FAQs

  • During each month of the package, you have access to two scheduled coaching sessions; unlimited email and/or texting with your coach; and access to *ad hoc sessions ~15 minutes in length (*subject to your coach’s availability.)

  • It’s great to start with a sample session. You and your coach can talk about your goals and interests and you can decide what length of time works best for you.

  • The sample session is important! :-) During this free 30 minute session, you will experience coaching with one of our experienced coaches. We encourage you to bring a topic, challenge, or dream to experience what it would be like to partner with an executive coach.

  • For many people, executive or leadership coaching might be a new concept. In our field, one of the top accreditation groups is the International Coaching Federation. (ICF) They credential programs and coaches. The Associate Certified Coach (ACC) is the first credential, followed by Professional Certified Coach (PCC), and then the top level is Master Certified Coach (MCC). The biggest thing that separates each credential is number of the coach’s coaching hours with clients. Continuing education and mentor coaching is also required for the next credential.

    Our head coach, Christina, is also a Certified Professional Co-Active Coach (CPCC) through the Co-Active Training Institute.

  • Leadership and executive coaching are not therapy/counseling. Christina E. Ahn and Associates are not mental health providers and do not diagnose or treat disease.

    All of the below relationships are important, and the following descriptions are meant to orient you to the major differences between them.

    Therapy/Counseling- Can be mostly a look back at what has happened and why. Sometimes there is a diagnosis.

    Coaching- looking forward- what’s the dream? What would make life more fulfilling? It’s a partnership with the client where the client is the expert on their life and the coach is expert on coaching.

    Mentoring- trusted advisor that has more experience and advises on next steps. Sometimes mentors offer resources and connections for you to be successful.

    Consulting- consultant reviews the situation and advises on next steps and what to do based upon their expertise.
